The mare had been lurking around simply just living a quiet peaceful existence on the mountain. Every once in a while she would see one of her herd mates. Though for the most part she was alone. With the fall coming once more she sighed. She had wanted to be a mother by now but had yet to become one. Still things weren’t too bad she had a home. One that was safe and not full of judgement like her birthplace. Walking carefully through the trees she found herself on the borders of Romeo’s herd and his brothers. Looking up at the afternoon sunlight that danced between the leaves and clouds she wondered if she would cross paths with another today, or if today would be another lonely day.
Sighing softly she took a deep breath before she began to sing softly;
"This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
Everywhere I go, I'm gonna let it shine. Everywhere I go, I'm gonna let it shine. Everywhere I go, I'm gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine."
Her gentle voice echoed though the forest as she danced to the sound of her own sweet song. The wind playing with her hair as she did. She wasn’t bellowing out the words instead they were gentle like a sweet kiss upon the autumn breeze.
Character: Mercy Song credit: This Little Light Of Mine by Love To Sing
Life in the mountains had been going extremely well, as of late. He had two beautiful children with his queen and had recently accepted taken another child under his protection. Though, he would more and likely adopt her if his scouts came up with no information on her family. He had still yet to introduce his children to the herd, waiting until their mother was ready for them to be announced as the heir and heiress of the herd. He wondered when more children would be born into the herd, but so far, no one else had given the herd that. It didn't matter much, though. As long as there was some new life in the herd, it still meant it was thriving.
As he made his rounds for the day, the sound of a gentle voice echoed through the lands as he continued on the usual path. A smile graced his lips as the sound of singing filled his auditory range. He recognized the voice as Mercy's, but hadn't known how sweetly she could sing. As he made sure the last of the herd boundaries were secured, he turned and made his way in search of the beautiful creature that had graced his mountains with song. It had been some time since he had had a chance to talk to her, and he figured it was due time. He had invited her to his herd, but hadn't spent much time with her yet.
The russet and ivory beast continued on his way towards the voice, before the sight of the fair maiden entered his line of sight. He watched her sing and dance from the shadows of the trees, before clearing his voice and announcing himself as he exited from the shadows. Good day, m'lady, he mused lightly, hoping he hadn't disturbed her in any way. The last thing he wanted was to scare her. He took in the sight of her as he settled into a comfortable position.
Singing out loud she bobbed her head gently from side to side as she went from singing to humming her song. Eyes closed as she took in the sound of the chirping birds sounding like they were singing with her. It made her happy but she was longing for a little light to sing and teach the art of song too. She could go make one, but that wasn’t as easy as said because what was she supposed to do just march up to Romeo and demand his attention? There were prettier mares in the herd for that. Surely a handsome and impressive horse like himself already had some foals romping around anyways.
Speaking of the devil as she thought about him for a moment it was like he was reading her mind as he cleared his throat and stepped out of the shadows. Eyes opening she turned to look at him and politely dipped her head in greeting. "Greetings, m’king. Are you here to let your light shine?" She halfway sung her words as she gave him a smile. She was relaxed and teasing him in a time and soft way. Playing with the words of her song she had assumed he had possibly heard and found her by. "How are you? You look well." She then added as she looked at him while trying to make small talk.
