Being swept across the water from the small island that she had once called home, a young mare awoken from an unconscious state to find that she was no longer home. She was - in fact - alone, and confused. Many thoughts raced through her head, as she tried to figure out where she was. Unfortunately, she couldn't quite figure out where she was at. Her legs felt almost useless as she attempted to stand, and ended up stumbling back to the ground. The world spun around her, but again she attempted to stand. She knew she couldn't just lay there forever, who knows what would have come her way eventually. When she was finally on all four legs, she took a shaky step forward and the world seemed to spin faster around her. Closing her blue eyes, she tried to focus on her internal thoughts. Maybe if she could get them to settle down, she might be able to stop the spinning. She counted to ten internally, before finally opening her eyes once more. When the world stood still before her, she glanced carefully around at her landscape. The lands still looked like her home, but much larger. Turning her gaze to behind her, she could just barely make out her small island home in the distance. A soft cry escaped her lips as she yearned to be home, back with Mathias, and back with the rest of the pirates.
Of course, her cry went unheard and unanswered. She knew there was no way home now, and a sigh fell past her lips. I will never see them again, she whimpered in soft, lyrical tones. Taking a few steps away from the water, she made her way further into the lands that she would soon be calling home for the rest of her life. Her sleek chestnut appaloosa body continued to move forward, not once stopping. Her strength was still attempting to return to her body, and she knew if someone or something were to attack her, she wouldn't be able to fight back, at least not in her current state. Water dripped from her body as she walked, but she paid no attention to it. It was kind of relieving to feel the cool sensation on her body, especially in the heat of the day. It didn't take her long to reach some fresh grass near a flowing river. She soon came to a stop and dipped her head to pick up a few blades of grass before allowing herself to chew on them. She did that a few times, before she made her way towards the fresh water. Once there, she dipped her head once more, but this time to get a drink. When she felt a little more comfortable, and a bit more strength renewed, she raised her head and glanced around at her surroundings again. I wish you were here with me, Mathias. I'm so lost, and I don't know what to do, she spoke to the thin air, knowing that she wouldn't receive a response.

Molten heat thrummed through the colt's pounding veins as he pranced along deer trails through the brush and bramble. To the dark dusky pelted bronc's delight, his uncle had just claimed a territory for themselves and a fine one at that! Perhaps the spirited young buck should have been back in their borders but what fun was that? His uncle was strong enough to retain what was theirs now and who better to find some beauties to fill their new home besides the more handsome and younger of the two anyway? Perknos could not keep still with his excited energy, finally on his own, mostly. Able to do whatever he likes without his mother's nagging or his siblings tagging along.
Feeling like he was finally coming into his own, Perknos strutted through the lands as he pleased. Sniffing, snorting, and huffing at any scents left behind by other dominant individuals, a few times marking over discovered scents with his own. Ah yes, it was no man's land, yet he wanted to let the world know he was proudly in residence nearby and all stragglers needing a home would be able to swiftly follow his aroma there. Some could say it was cocky of him but he saw it as a wise plan. If he was the only musk the mares scented, then he and his uncles would be the ones with the highest chance of luring the most females in. Ebony ribbons twisted up at the edges of his muzzle at the thought of his musk being the breadcrumb trail a sweet little filly followed.
Emerging from the edge of some trees and down a small bank to churning waters, warm velvets parted as his noble brow lowered to the cool flowing liquid. It was like a soothing balm within him, making him feel like his heated blood sizzle with steam as the cold water quenched him inside out. Droplets dribbled off his chin as he raised his crown, dual transceivers pricking forward as possibly muffle hoof steps were not too far off. Dark nostrils flared as he inhaled the surrounding atmosphere deeply within his lungs. Bright amber pools widened as the aroma of a nearby female registered on his internal faculties. A brief but thorough glance around himself produced more evidence of someone having just been here.
Slowly stepping forth as he sniffed the water's edge, there was fresh skid marks and hoof scraps leading up and away from the bank coming from the water. Huffing the lingering aroma some more, Perknos verified a female equine had been here recently. Flicking his tail high across his dusky back a few times as he followed the trail up the bank and through the grass, as her scent grew stronger the closer he got, he could not help but wicker loudly to announce his presence. Perknos had not found any other scents around but hers. So she was alone, so far. Poor thing. She probably needed saving or protection by a bold young stallion like him!
Lupin gold orbs alighted on her ivory-painted frame as the path returned him to looking upon flowing waters again. A very pretty and very wet young lady was imbibing at the waters. Nickering loudly to her, Perknos trotted confidently up to the rouge-maned beauty, "Are you alright dear? Did you misplace someone or did they misplace you? You look soaked to the bone! Would you like some company to warm up?" Though eager, Perknos's vocals were low and gentle, striving to be reassuring and welcoming. He slowed his approach but held his strong and bold posture. Flaring his broad chest out and arching his neck to show off his finely muscled stallion body. It was so much stronger and more powerful feeling than compared to his two-year-old self just a year ago.
It had been awhile since she'd had any contact with another equine. She missed her old group and wondered if she would ever be able to find them, or at least be able to find Mathias. Though, she doubted it. Knowing her luck, he got swept further away and wouldn't be able to return. Inhaling a deep breath immediately caused her to break out in a coughing fit, the smoke inhalation issue hitting her hard. As the coughing fit subsided, she raised her tiara and gazed up at the heavens. It would be clear to others that she wasn't really paying attention to her surroundings like she should have been.
Are you alright dear? Did you misplace someone or did they misplace you? You look soaked to the bone! Would you like some company to warm up? The sound of another speaking spooked her and caused her to jump slightly in fear. Her heart beating hard against her chest cavity, she took a few slow breaths as she turned to gaze upon the one who had startled her. Recalling his words, she arched an invisible eyebrow slightly as she looked at the grullo stud. I..I'm fine, I t..think, she started her answer in response to the stallion. I've just seemed to have misplaced my whole group, but I doubt they are here, she continued before slightly chewing on the inside of her mouth.
She knew she shouldn't be opening up to this stallion, after all she didn't know him or his intentions, but her mind was cloudy from the smoke that she had inhaled and it wasn't helping. I suppose I wouldn't mind some company, she cooed lightly. Her heart rate slowed to an even pace once more, and she didn't really know why she had accepted his invitation, but she hoped that he wouldn't harm her in any way. My name is Arcelia, she introduced herself, realizing that she probably should have started with that, but he hadn't introduced himself yet either. May I know your name? She inquired with ease.
What did he want with her? Though, she had a feeling, right now, she would accept anything he offered. Especially if it meant not being alone, and not having to watch over herself alone. The last thing she wanted was to be alone and get attacked by a predator.

taggedTxepster words 393 notes haha, she's a little lonely. xD
Perknos's noise receptors were pricked forward in alarm at the mare's coughing fit as he approached and hailed her. She seemed so caught up in her fit that she had not noticed his presence until he started speaking. He stepped back to give her room as she regained her breath, it was a bit alarming as even though she seemed to stutter, was he hearing a wease in her wind or was he imagining that? He looked her ivory and ruby-painted frame over again as she spoke. Besides for being damp and winded from coughing, she was still a very lovely vision to enjoy.
"Are you sure you are okay? That did not sound good.. Wet and coughing, do you have water in your lungs?" Perknos asked with concern, he had known of horses to have perished from having what humans would call pneumonia, though he knew not the terminology. Just that it was a cough that was worse than the average cold that could kill. "Ah that's a shame you have misplaced them.. " Though perhaps that was a good thing, or could be a good thing for Perknos if her loss meant his gain.
The grulla's features lit up as she verified she would welcome his company and so he stepped forward boldly with no hesitation and lowered his crown to hers and drew his flared ebony nares next to her velvet pink ones and he let out a deep breath. Intentionally flooding her nostrils with his musky grass-scented breath, "Dear Arcelia, I am Perknos. It is a pleasure to meet you." His tone was soft and rumbling, on the verge of intimacy with being so close to her. If she traded her breath in greeting, he would inhale her signature aroma within himself too "If you are cold, you may curl up to my side and I'll groom you to help dry your coat, as it seems you are still damp. Would you tell me of your lost companions in the meantime?" He asked with as much warmth and reassurance as he could muster.
Perknos was aiming to come off as genuinely kind and welcoming for her to trust and naturally give into him as her new protector. If her response was positive, he would softly trail his nose over her jaw and curve of her willowy neck till he reached her pointed withers. If that were received well then he would step into her, letting his warm side and should press against her to share his heat, as he would begin to gently groom her withers and back.
431. Promise. Totally up to you on if the IFs happen or not.
Are you sure you are okay? That did not sound good.. wet and coughing, do you have water in your lungs? His question confused her for a second, but it didn't take her long to realize what he was talking about. I am fine, I just have some smoke in my lungs from a fire, she answered him, honestly. I'm sure it will go away in due time, she added, not wanting him to worry too much about her. She shifted slightly on her hooves as she tried to get into a more comfortable position. Ah that's a shame you have misplaced them. She nodded her tiara in response to his words. It was truly a shame that she had misplaced her group and she wished that she knew where they were at.
When she had accepted his offer for company, she had watched as his features had lit up. It took no time for him to move closer to her. As she inhaled a breath of air, she could smell his musky grass-scented breath, and she gazed at him with sapphire voids. Dear Arcelia, I am Perknos. It is a pleasure to meet you. He had finally introduced himself. His tone was soft and she could hear the rumble from his chest as he spoke. The intimate feeling of the words in her ears caused a slight shiver to ripple through her body. It is a pleasure to meet you, as well, she cooed lightly, letting the soft and lyrical tones of her own voice escape her vocal cords as well. If you are cold, you may curl up to my side and I'll groom you to help dry your coat, as it seems you are still damp. Would you tell me of your lost companions in the meantime? The warmth and reassurance of his tones caused her body to easily fall into a calm state, and she offered him a genuine smile.
I was stolen by a rogue band of pirates at six months of age. They raised me to be like them and I enjoyed every minute of it. I had a close friend in the band and he had attacked one of the higher ups, not wanting to be a lower rank anymore. However, things had gotten out of hand and a huge riot broke out, followed by a fire that lit up the area we had claimed for the night. I ended up getting struck by one of the other stallions, and ended up unconscious, and here I am, she admitted, the weight of holding it all in finally eased off of her shoulders. She hadn't told anyone who had really attacked the leader of the band, and of course, she wouldn't tell the band if they ever found her again. Though, she hoped they wouldn't find her. The only one she wanted to find her was Mathias, but she didn't see that happening.
Her body leaned into his slightly. She knew eventually she would have to lay down as her knees were starting to buckle with holding her weight up, since she was still trying to regain her strength. But, she didn't want to seem weak to the stallion next to her. Especially after having disclosed the majority of her past to him. Though, she was tired, and at this time, would welcome any touch that he offered her, especially if it helped her start feeling better.

taggedTxepster words 573 notes i don't know about you, but i could almost see her falling for him in the long run. XDD even if it was one-sided.
"Oh no you were in a fire too?" Perknos asked at first confused, "Oh I hope it does clear up soon for you!" Seriously!? What the hell happened to this poor filly? she was still soaked but had also been in a fire. Did she almost drown after the fire? The grulla had an uneasy feeling of strong sympathy starting to tickle in his chest for her. That was a very unusual sensation for Perknos. He was not sure he liked it.
When she wasn't coughing, her vocals were very fine to listen to! The delicate doe did not refuse his intimately close greeting, furthermore, she seemed to relax and lean into him as he administered his affections on her. He was able to feel her slighter frame and the feminine. "Mmm that's it my dear, just lean into me. You are not alone now." Softly he coaxed her as he encouraged her to use him more as her support. Working his lips and teeth down her spine and over her lush rump as she told him her story. A quaint and straight-to-the-point story of her life. He could admire that. His own life story was not that eventful or long either. At least as of yet. Perknos planned to leave a legendary legacy behind by the time his story ended.
"Are you saying you are a bonny-lass pirate then?" He chuckled softly with a tease. It sounded cute to him that she was part of a pirate band. "Oh was your friend trying to show off for you? Show he was worthy of your attention by gaining strength in the ranks?" He asked, curious but genuine, he wanted to know if she had previous relations with this 'friend' he should be aware of. "You have had nothing less than pure excitement in your life! That is extraordinary Arcelia! Nothing in my life is anywhere near as impressive thus far. Hopefully, that does not bore you of me?" Asking with concerned notes in his soft tones while he praised her.
Feeling her lean into him, Perknos coiled his visage over and around her back, the side of his muzzle pressing against the opposite side of her barrel than he was pressed up against. It was very much like what an equine hug or embrace could be, pulling her closer to him as he rubbed the side of his nose across her other side, "You seem exhausted Arcelia. Apologies for being so forward as a new stranger, but I can not help but want to be a strong oak for you to lean on. It must be scary to wake up alone and away from all that you knew, and then I, a strange stallion to find you. I would like to assure you that I am not like others, that would forcefully make a claim over a lone lost filly" Perknos gave reassurance he was there with good intentions and nothing ill-willed. "Instead I would like to ask if you would mind it if I chose to be a guardian of sorts over you for the time being?" Asking her while leaving it as an open invitation.
526. Promise . OH I could so see him taking her as his top favorite, be his personal lead mare within his band in his uncle's herd. he probably won't accept he could fall in love so young, even if he is in love, young stud wants to sew his oats everywhere heh.
Oh no, you were in a fire too? The lyrics sounded confused for a moment and Arcelia couldn't blame him. Not many come out of a fire alive, but thankfully, she had. Oh I hope it does clear up soon for you! She listened to his words and nodded her tiara in response. She certainly hoped it cleared up soon, too, but knew it would probably take a few days. I sure hope so, too. I am quite tired of the coughing after overexerting myself, she mused lightly, letting the soft lyrics slip free.
She had felt him administer his affections upon her form and it brought a sense of peace and calmness over the young maiden. Mmm that's it my dear, just lean into me. You are not alone now. She was definitely not alone right now. She was grateful for the stallion because she no longer had to watch her surroundings for danger, with him around. Though, should he leave her, she would immediately go back to keeping guard of her surroundings. She allowed her sleek form to lean into him more as she felt his lips and teeth moving along her spine and over her rump. She tensed slightly at the unfamiliar touch upon her rump, but when he didn't make any sudden moves to try anything, she relaxed once more.
Are you saying you are a bonny-lass pirate then? He inquired of her and she nodded her tiara in response. I once was, yes. Though, I suppose that's all over with now. I don't think I shall ever see them again. she cooed lightly in answer to his question. She heard his teasing chuckle, but made no motion to inquire about it. After all, not many ever got to meet a pirate, and she figured she was probably the only pirate around here. Oh was your friend trying to show off for you? Show he was worthy of your attention by gaining strength in the ranks? At his question, she couldn't help but feel that maybe he was a tad jealous. Though, of course, if he was, he had nothing to be jealous of. No, of course not, he was like a brother to me and he knew that, she answered hoping to ease any jealousy that might have accrued within him.
You have had nothing less than pure excitement in your life! That is extraordinary Arcelia! Nothing in my life is anywhere near as impressive thus far. Hopefully, that does not bore you of me? The concern is his tone of voice was evident and Arcelia glanced at him briefly. Dear Perknos, I don't think I shall ever grow bored of you, she cooed lightly in response to him. She reached her muzzle around and gently touched it against his nape, allowing her soft velveteen kissers to move in an intimate way along his neck. A notion of acceptance with just a touch of intimacy that almost signified that she was his. Though, as she finished the notion, she felt him coil his visage over and around her back, a genuine embrace that brought more peace and comfort over her body. She allowed him to pull her body closer to him.
You seem exhausted Arcelia. Apologies for being so forward as a new stranger, but I can not help but want to be a strong oak for you to lean on. It must be scary to wake up alone and away from all that you knew, and then I, a strange stallion to find you. I would like to assure you that I am not like others, that would forcefully make a claim over a lone lost filly. That was definitely good news to hear. She had always feared those kinds of stallions, Before she could answer him, he spoke once more. Instead I would like to ask if you would mind it if I chose to be your guardian of sorts over you for the time being? She listened to his question and pondered on it for a bit, allowing herself the time to mull over the question. Especially since it was an important question. A few moments passed by before she finally parted her kissers and said, I would very much like that. With the answer given, she shifted slightly away from him allowing her another full glance at him. he was definitely a handsome stud and one that she could see herself potentially wanting to stay with for the rest of her life.

taggedTxepster words 751 notes haha, that's normal of stallions. though, i could see her falling for him in return and giving him her entire loyalty. i see pretty babies in the future. :3 she'll keep his mares in line too. xDD
Oh did not his mother warn him about this? That to not get caught in the glint of the first filly's eyes that sparkled! Yet here he was. Having found this poor damsel in distress and was already willing to drop everything to be able to be the one she trusted to protect her. His mother warned him that he would want to sew his oats with more than one doe, so he should reserve his heart until such oats were sewn. Yet how could he resist with this genuinely gorgeous ivory and ruby filly leaning so trustingly into his side, accepting his presence and affections like this? He had expected to run into spitfire and resistance with the ladies. Acrelia was all but that right now. Perhaps it was because she was so warn out and exhausted from her recent adventures, she was not as spirited and rebellious as she would show to be. A part of him was curious to know what kind of spirit did lay beneath the exhaustion, not everyone could handle being a pirate after all!
Perknos softly grinned, "Will you miss being a pirate if it is over for you?" He asked curiously. Then was pleased to hear the mentioned stud had been more of a brother to her than anything else. That made his chest widen in prideful hope she was still an untainted heart, he had no need to fight the memory of another if she were to join him. But was his heart not as innocent as well? Should he not be guarding himself of the feeling that was tickling deep within his ribcage at encountering his first filly? Should he admit to her there was no one for him either? He veered his thoughts from that as she confessed she did not think she would not get bored of him, "My dear you are oh so kind. It will be my new aim to ensure you are never bored of me!" He boasted with an additional nuzzle into her pelt. He was absolutely getting drunk off her feminine aroma and would not be able to remove it from his senses anytime soon after being allowed to groom her so intimately.
The young stud's entire form swelled with pure joy and delight as she accepted his offer, "Acrelia!" Perknos tamped the excitement down from his voice as he continued, though his veins thrummed with his thundering pulse, "You honor me by allowing me to be such for you! Thank you my dear!" He could not resist embracing her again in another equine hug. His crown pulling her closer into him, holding her ever so tight and protectively for a few long moments until her forced himself to relent and relax. It was the most extraordinary feeling to have a lady willingly accept his proposal of protecting her. He fully loved the strong sense of pride it gave him in this new responsibility he had to fulfill for Acrelia. At this moment in time, he did not want to allow her out of his sight or presence, she was his to protect now! In every way as he seen it.
"Dear Acrelia, I would love to bring you my herd lands where I reside, yet I fear you are exhausted and need some rest." Perknos was doing everything in his power to hold still and not be the internal colt prancing within him, as he spoke, "If you need to take time and rest, I will be here to protect you from any disturbances until you stir." He promised to her, "Then when you wake, I will ask you properly if you would accompany me my herd lands?" He gave a warm smile, the pleased excitement filling his golden amber eyes. This filly had really just made his day! Anything else was a huge bonus.
Will you miss being a pirate if it is over for you? At his question, she thought about how best to answer it. Sure, she'd miss part of it. She'd miss the thrill of the stealing, the thrill of the chase, and the thrill of the battle, every so often. However, she wouldn't miss the deaths, or the fighting between her group over random things. Oh, I'm sure I will some parts of it, but a new adventure awaits, she started, before softly adding, an adventure that I seem to be quite excited for. After speaking, she fell silent for a few brief moments, as her mind drifted to simpler times. Times when she was a foal and wasn't expected to do much but be a child, or train. She wasn't expected to steal, lie, or fight.
My dear you are oh so kind. It will be my new aim to ensure you are never bored of me. A soft, melodic giggle escaped her chest cavity, but threw her into a small coughing fit. As soon as the coughing fit calmed down, she offered a bashful smile to the stallion. I am excited to see what you shall do to keep me entertained, she mused with a softer, and smaller giggle. She had felt the nuzzle into her pelt. Arcelia! She heard him exclaim as he seemed to attempt to tamp down the excitement in his voice. A smile graced her lips, happy that she was able to give him such excitement. You honor me by allowing me to be such for you! Thank you my dear! At his words, she felt him embrace her again in another equine hug. His crown seemed to easily pull her closer into him, before he released her.
I am glad that I am able to honor you in such a way, she spoke with ease. Dear Arcelia, I would love to bring you to my herd lands where I reside, yet I fear you are exhausted and need some rest. At his words, she seemed to finally realize just how exhausted she truly was. Well, it seems you must be telling the truth, she mentioned with a small yawn. If you need to take time and rest, I will be here to protect you from any disturbances until you stir. She heard him say as though he were making a promise to her. Then when you wake, I will ask you properly if you would accompany me to my herd lands? She heard him mention with a warm smile.
She lowered herself next to him as her body felt the exhaustion weigh in on her. She wondered what his lands looked like as she drifted off into sleep. As she slept, she dreamt of a land that she could finally call home. A land that she could always return to and no longer have to worry about moving from territory to territory. It seemed as though hours had passed before she finally seemed to stir from her slumber. As her eyes opened, she glanced around at her surroundings, fear almost hitting her as she began to wonder if it was all just a dream. Had she really been talking to someone before she had fallen asleep or was it all a dream?
Though, as she raised to her hooves, she glanced around her once more, before her gaze landed upon the stallion that had started to capture her heart. She moved slightly away from him and moved towards a small river. Lowering her tiara, she took a nice quick drink of the cool, flowing liquid, before looking back at him. I apologize if I slept longer than intended, she mused lightly before making her way back towards him. Now, about these herd lands, she started, before falling silent, wondering if he would say something to her. Unfortunately, though, it was also that exact moment in time, when her heat would start. An easy sign that her body was ready to carry a child, but would Perknos react to it?
