R O M E O

Traversing the terrain of the Moraine Mountains was easy for the beast that had resided within it's depths for years. A chestnut painted silhouette stepped carefully and easily across the rocky terrain, and made his way towards the center of a rather large inlet hidden within the mountain range. The inlet was the meeting spot for all of the equines of the herd, and served it's purpose well especially during the spring and summer. Sapphire voids shifted across the landscape before he turned and made his way towards the range. After all, he had to make his daily rounds of the territory to make sure it was all secure and the inhabitants were happy.



As the range came into view, he hastened his pace, but only for a few mere moments. Silence crept into the land. Satisfied that all was clear, he made his way towards the volcano. Eventually, his rounds for this evening would be finished and he would be able to rest. However, the volcano would be the more treacherous part of his route. Thankfully, he had grown quite adept at climbing the volcano side, and knew where to step and what to watch out for. As he neared it, he started his ascension towards the peak. It took a few hours, but eventually he made it.



Standing at the peak of the volcano, he glanced down at his lands. A smile crossed his velveteen kissers, and he raised his crown with pride. An echoing whinny escaped his vocal chords. These are my lands, all who come to cause harm shall be met by me, his booming voice echoed out into the air before silence struck the mountains once more. His mane and tail waved in the gentle breeze as night slowly approached the lands.
