that morning, the skies made way for the sun and it did not storm on kekoa. noxys woke, heading to patrol the territory, basking his golden hide for the first time in what felt like forever. it was an unfortunate ‘welcome home’, he’d thought to himself. scouts told him about the blockage to the mainland, so as he went about his day, he knew it wouldn’t be long before the rain hit again. taking advantage of it in the only way he could think, noxys eventually made his way to the rose forest. it didn’t surprise him, once under cover, that the deep blue of the sky was starting to fade. wild clouds swirled over the ocean just into the horizon, and he huffed at the thought of seeking shelter once more. still, he was grateful for the refuge kekoa provided him however unequipped for the weather he felt. his big stride took him toward the heart of the forest, stopping just before where the treetops ended and the small, hearty meadow began. the brute let off a throaty call to the winds to anyone who may have heard him. “i call to anyone lurking to come forth — join me as you are.” his voice carried like he had never heard it before. a short snort erupted from him then, front legs curled as he lifted and struck the air, inky tendrils whipping against his neck as he landed. “come whatever may,” he’d whisper to himself.
