Laipawan blood courses through his veins. Even if he wanted to, he never would have been able to keep himself away forever.

His mother remained destitute, and it truly broke his heart. The once powerful oracle had hidden herself away, just as she had in her youth, stricken with grief over Laipawa falling apart. Though she was not the only one affected by the disappearance of the King and Princess, it was clear to the colt that the mare's clairvoyance had been affected so negatively, that she was still dealing with the shockwave of it all today.

He could no longer stand by and see such suffering. Action needed to be taken . . . and things remained quiet on the main island.

It was almost as though the stones and the trees had weaved him a pathway back home. They were keeping the space open, for his return.

Oddly quiet - something he wasn't used to seeing here. But then again, it had been quite some time since he even set hoof in Laipawa. Without a King to protect the herd and protect the land, it seemed their little world was simply left to thrive. He had never seen the trees so lush and green. Some faint remnants of a storm remained amongst the toppled trees, but truly Nature was healing herself as she does; the overgrown lush, however, was just begging to be inhabited.

Cepheus made his way, across the deepest parts of Capule Canyon and back through the forests; he seemed to be taking his time, testing himself to see what parts of Liapawa he could remember. But the truth remained - he could never really forget.

Eventually the colt broke through the trees, deposited onto the beach. It was quiet here, too, except for the gentle waves. They lapped up against his hooves as he drew closer, a soft, salty breeze tustling with his mane. He had told Nokomis that he would return by sundown, but the colt found himself watching as the colors of the sky changed to beautiful reddish hues. 

In truth, she knew he would not be returning to Kekoa.
