The stallion lowered his head, a puff of hot air coming from his nose as he readied himself to drink from the lake. The cooler temperatures of the territory during the winter were just what he needed after the hours he'd spent racing nothing really in search for this small herd that held control over this desert, but so far he had found no luck and despite his usual demeanour he was now beginning to worry a little for his own livelihood out here by himself. Not only that, but if he were to he may have to start being serious about this whole Bachelor thing, and that he abhorred. He was made to follow, not to be a lead stallion and much less a lead protector. By the dust, he was lucky he knew what herbs to eat and which berries might knock him head. How to chase and play. Those were his qualifications.
Cloud closed his eyes, opening his mouth and allowing his long tongue to draw the refreshing liquid into his mouth, massive gulps at a time. His ears flicking, alert as best as he could be of his surrounding as he had a drink. Imagine if now was when he found himself head to head with a herd. Wouldn't that be just his luck. The grullo lifted his head, now swallowing down the water in his mouth and taking the moment to turn his head around, peering into the distance for any signs of movement, friend or foe alike. Another puff of hot air escaped his nostrils and soon he returned to drinking.
The desert wasn’t a place he particularly enjoyed being in but he had left the prairie to seek new blood to join the herd. He was also hoping to find Perknos as his nephew had gone missing. He was young and Winston was sure he was fine, but there was still that little nagging voice of worry in his head. So he had wandered to go check out the neighbors. Maybe ask around if they had seen him while trying to be friends. Maybe he’d even pick up a few new faces of the herd while out. Or make an alliance with another herd.
Roaming the desert if he did cross paths with the herd that lived here he could offer them a cooler place to live during the summer months as he was sure summer here was just brutal. Luckily for him it wasn’t summer. Even more luckily was the sight of water as he spotted the lake. Getting closer he spotted another stallion drinking from it. Looking him over he noticed how he seemed to be alone. Nonetheless he sent out a whinny to announce his intention to approach as he came closer on the stranger’s left side. Stopping about ten feet from him he dipped his skull. "Greetings." He said respectfully as he dipped his head to drink. He was thirsty so his voice was a bit dry not because he was trying to be rude but because he needed the delightful liquid to rehydrate his throat. Lifting his head he looked over at the stranger with a calm look on his face and a warm smile. "Winston. Knightsung King of the Waresoll Kingdom over yonder in the Prairies." He finally gave a full formal introduction of himself to the stallion. Staying alert to his surroundings incase of someone else being around taking offense of what he had just said as he also watched the stallion before him.
